1. Thomas Morgan trading as Jungle Property, and operating under the brand name Jungle Cottages, is the Data Controller for personal data processed in connection with Jungle Cottages. 2. The purpose and legal basis for the processing of personal data is as follows:

  • Property owner letting property – purpose: providing information for the preparation of the property for letting, communicating guest enquiries and feedback, meeting guest needs, informing about bookings, informing about unforeseen events affecting a stay, arranging cleaning, linen, repairs and maintenance, processing payments and providing financial statements, informing about issues or events connected with the property, informing about issues identified at changeover checks – legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation, legitimate interests, performance of a contract, public interest. For property owners who appoint a contractor to provide a service, this Privacy Notice will apply to all personal data that the property owner provides for the contractor and the property owner must bring this Privacy Notice to the attention of the contractor.
  • Guest booking accommodation – purpose: responding to guest enquiries and feedback, meeting guests needs, confirming bookings, processing payments, providing information for the stay, informing about unforeseen events affecting the stay, resolving cleaning, linen, repairs and maintenance issues, resolving issues identified at the changeover check, communicating information for repeat stays – legal basis: compliance with a legal obligation, legitimate interests, performance of a contract, public interest. For guests booking accommodation on behalf of other people, this Privacy Notice will apply to all personal data that the booking guest provides for the other people and the booking guest must bring this Privacy Notice to the attention of the other people.
  • Website visitor sending us a message via the website – purpose: requesting information from us – legal basis: legitimate interests
  • Blog visitor leaving a comment – purpose: providing information for us and other blog visitors – legal basis: legitimate interests.

3. The recipients or categories of recipients of the personal data are:

  • Property owner letting property – third party online SMS gateway service, repair request system, property management software service, form software service, electronic document storage service, electronic signature service and guests, our employees and contractors, our professional advisors, law enforcement agencies, HMRC, Courts.
  • Guest booking accommodation – third party booking platform, payment gateway and property owner, our employees and contractors, any contractor appointed by the property owner, our professional advisors, law enforcement agencies, Courts.
  • Website visitor sending us a message via the website – third party website hosting service, mail server, e-mail client software.
  • Blog visitor leaving a comment – third party blog hosting service.

4. The Data Controller does not intend to transfer personal data to a third country or international organisation.

5. The period for which the personal data will be stored:

  • Property owner letting property – data is retained as follows:
    • 6 years after the termination and end of the Client Agreement;
    • until the termination and end of the Client Agreement for data stored on company mobile phone and third party online SMS gateway service.
  • Guest booking accommodation – until the later of:
    • end of stay;
    • resolution of issues identified at the changeover check;
    • communication of information for repeat stay.
  • Website visitor sending us a message via the website – until message response sent.
  • Blog visitor leaving a comment – indefinitely.

6. The Data Subject has the right to request from the Data Controller access to and rectification or erasure of personal data or restriction of processing concerning the Data Subject or to object to processing as well as the right to data portability.

7. Where the processing is based on consent, the Data Subject has the right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.

8. The Data Subject has the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. If you think your data has been misused or that it has not been kept secure, in the first instance contact the Data Controller. 9. Where the provision of personal data is a statutory or contractual requirement the Data Subject is obliged to provide the personal data. The consequences of failure to provide such data are as follows:

  • Property owner letting property – unable to enter into a contract with us.
  • Guest booking accommodation – unable to book accommodation.
  • Website visitor sending us a message via the website – unable to send message.
  • Blog visitor leaving a comment – unable to leave comment.
